This agreement is made for our mutual benefit to protect you and ourselves, as well as to make clear the conditions of purchase.

The conditions of this sale are as follows:

* The Buyer accepts the responsibility of caring for this kitten and providing properly for it’s welfare. The Buyer agrees to follow he breeder’s instructions on care, housing, diet, treatment, and health.

* The Buyer agrees that this kitten will always receive prompt medical care and recognizes the necessary need for annual booster immunizations.

* The Buyer agrees to never leave this kitten alone for more than 24 hours unless arrangements have been made with a responsible person to provide fresh food and water at least once a day.

* The Buyer agrees to provide a generous amount of exercise for this kitten, provide it with toys, and not to confine this kitten except for necessary isolation during an illness. This kitten is NEVER to live in a cage.

* The Buyer agrees that this kitten will be kept indoors and NOT allowed to roam freely outside.

* The Buyer agrees that this kitten will NOT be declawed. We suggest that they Buyer keep the kitten’s nails clipped and provide a scratching post for the kitten.

* The Buyer agrees that this kitten will be spayed/neutered between 6 and 8 months of age. It is recommended that only isoflurane anesthetic be used.

* If there are other pets in the household, Breeder suggests that the Buyer isolate the new kitten from their other pets for a minimum of one week. New kittens may show signs of stress including but not limited to, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea and/or constipation. These effects can be minimized by feeding identical food as served by the Breeder (Pro Plan Chicken & Rice and IAMS Kitten, Pro Plan Chicken & Rice adult, all dry), offering bottled or distilled water and overall reducing stress during the integration period. If food is to be switched to another, gradually do so over a 7-10 day period.

* The Buyer agrees to contact the Breeder if the Buyer is unable to keep this kitten and will return the kitten to the Breeder at the earliest opportunity, unless the Breeder agrees to another home for the kitten. The Breeder has the right to refuse to allow the return of a sick or infectious kitten until kitten is well. The Buyer agrees that this kitten will never be sold, leased, or given to any pet shop, animal shelter, or research laboratory, or similar facility.

* The Buyer should send photos of the kitten to Coonwyck at the ages of six months, nine months, one year, and every year thereafter until the kitten is at least four years old. The Buyer should also enclose a brief note describing the health and temperament of this kitten. This clause is of great assistance to Coonwyck in evaluating its breeding program.

~ Health Guarantee ~

* This kitten has had all distemper vaccinations and has been seen by our veterinarian and is in good health.

* The Breeder guarantees that the Breeder’s cattery is FeLV negative, and that this kitten has received two (2) Heska brand Intranasal/Intraocular Tri-valant vaccines for Rhinotracheitis, Panleukopenia, and Calicivirus at the ages of 8 and 12 weeks.

* The Breeder guarantees that this kitten is presently free of any disease and that this kitten will be accepted for a full refund of purchase price if returned within three (3) days of purchase with a veterinarian’s certificate stating that this kitten has a health problem.  Under no circumstances will Breeder be responsible for payment of any medical treatment provided to the kitten by the Buyer. The Breeder warrants that this kitten is genetically sound, and will replace this kitten with another of equal value or refund half the original sale price if this kitten dies within one year of the purchase date from a genetic defect and this said defect is evidenced in an autopsy report presented to the Breeder.

* The Breeder agrees to provide a pedigree and registration papers on this kitten upon presentation of a veterinarian’s certificate of spaying/neutering.
